1. 80th Anniversary of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith's Flight.

Celebrations from 4th - 13th January 2013 were held in Gerringong and at Seven Mile Beach, Gerroa in recognition of the first passenger flight from Australia to New Zealand on 11th January 1933.

2.  Billow View Historic House.

On 10 October 2013 between 11.00am and 3.00pm the Historical Society hosted an open house at the historical

Billow View House in Belinda Street, Gerringong.

 

65 people attended.  

3. Lloyd Rees Festival. From 31 October until 3 November 2013, a Festival was held to celebrate the close relationship the eminent landscape artist had with our area, and to commemorate 25 years since his death. Lloyd and his family had a holiday house at Werri Beach, which was, in the words of his son Alan, both a retreat and a source of inspiration for nearly forty years.

5.  Boat Harbour Interpretive Signs.

The Historical Society has been working on this project for two years and interpretative signs were installed at Boat Harbour in September 2013 with a formal opening on 28th November at 9.30am.

 

School children, State and Federal MPs as well as KMC Mayor and local press attended.
