Take a walk back in time through the township of Gerringong. Consisting of some 700 photographs, both historical and contemporary, Gerringong Then and Now presents a five-chapter, comprehensive history of Gerringong depicting how it was in the early days compared with now (2009 - 2012).
Starting at the Kiama Bends, we experience an imaginary stroll along the road to Gerringong. Once there, we continue our walk throughout the entire township, stopping to visit all parts of this uniquue and amazing village as we go. Hopefully by doing so, we are able to relive and appreciate the 'past' in the 'present'.
After more than five years' research, all information relating to dates, places, etc., has been verified, as far as humanly possible, from source documents. All primary documents have been digitised and are held separately for view in Gerringong's Museum.
Gerringong Then and Now is a project resulting from the combined efforts of many people from the Gerringong community and the Gerringong and District Historical Society Inc.
Since the majority of elements pertaining to the project have been sourced from the Gerringong community, all funds from the sale of this DVD will go back to the community and not to any individual.
