The Uniting Church in Australia was inaugurated on Wednesday, June 22, 1977, at a service in the Sydney Town Hall.

The following Sunday, services were  conducted in the newly formed Uniting Church Congregations right across Australia, and the visions of people from Congregational, methodist and Presbyterian traditions were fulfilled.
